The Photographers
Toshio Khoo (Penang)
I’ve always been an avid fan of photography since my first camera that was passed down from my father. From there onwards, the interest grew and I’ve steadily progressed from film to digital photography.
I love doing photography of all kinds, as long as there is a essence to be captured, I’m always looking forward to my next ‘affair’ with my camera, the sound of the shutter click to where the exact moment is recorded.
To me, a picture tells more then a thousand words, a portrait of an event recorded permanently in time to be shared to all. Its also because of this, i keep challenging myself forward to grow and cultivate this passion i have, as i cheekily rephrase:
“This is my camera, There are many like it but this one is mine. My camera is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life. My camera, without me is useless. Without my camera, I am useless. I must fire my camera true. I must capture the moment, the very essence of time itself.”

Sulan (KL)
I love photography. I love nature and people. Often I dream of capturing the awe-inspiring sights and the smiles of people. Before this, I have been using my Sony digital camera to capture the moment around me.
Participate in Penang in 24 hours program really boost my interest in photographing much. It was my very first time to use a professional camera ,joined a group of strangers and started off our photographing “trip”. Knowing almost nothing about my camera(it is actually not mine also), I learned a lot from the program that I shall consider that my photography journey will starts from here.Loved the “ka chak ka chak ” sound from the camera, I now rarely want to use my ordinary Sony digital anymore..
I’m still a beginner and wish to learn more about photography.I’m “poisoned”, I now believe i can take nice photos too. So, the first thing I want to do now is…save $$$ to buy myself a camera !
